First of all, thank you for asking me to guestpost on your blog. I have followed your blog for about a year before I started my own and you have been an inspiration for me to start writing about health and inspiring people to work out. So thank you for that.
Who am I?
I am Stefanie, a 23 year old Personal Trainer and soon-to-be sports instructor from Helsinki, Finland. I started my health and sports blog a little over half a year ago and I am just about to break a million visitors mark! I write in finnish and I post every weekday, weekends I take off. I write about my own workouts, my eating, interesting topics about health (my last text about how women often work out in a wrong way got headlines in Finlands biggest newspaper-website. I am all about eating clean and working out hard.
My weekly routine?
I work out 5 days a week – 2 times strenght training, 1-2 times cardio and 1 time yoga. I often end my workouts with a short high-intensity workout, like tabata. But that is so intensive, it can only be done a couple of times a week. I have my own Personal Trainer in the same gym as I work as a Personal Trainer and with the help of “Antti” (my PT) I have lost 10kg (22 lbs) in about a year. I have been in this consistent weight now for over half a year. I am at the moment very into crossfit and I actually have goals to compete in the Finnish Championship within a year. Very excited about that! I am also a former smoker, so I have done a big change in my lifestyle over the past couple of years. The best thing I know is surfing and I am leaving for Portugal tomorrow for a surf getaway.
My eating habits?
I eat clean, that is the most important thing about my diet. The second important thing though is not to stress about it. I don’t count calories, I am not restricted to not eat something if I crave it and I have my “cheat days”. I love chocolate for example and I eat dark chocolate many times a week! I work out with a high intensity, so nowadays I feel like I can eat a lot without gaining weight. I concentrate on eating a big breakfast, a (snack), lunch (bigger than a salad), a snack, dinner and a small snack before I go to bed. I am into berrysmoothies, coconut water and avocado at the moment. I also enjoy having a beer with friends, so no strict diets here.
What is there to do in Finland?
Our seasons go from so much snow you can’t find your car on winter to t-shirt jogging during summer! So summer is great for park workouts and runs, during winter skiing and ice-skating are big in Finland. Some crazy people swim in an open icy lake in the winter, I have tried it but it’s awful! Good for you blood circulation though… The Sauna (hot room) is invented in Finland, that’s a great way to relax. Finnish people are know for their “Sisu” in sports, that’s a finnish term that means something close to a strong will and determination that can only be found in a finnish person.
What do I want with my blog?
I started my blog with the thought to be inspired to work out myself and to possibly inspire others. My sister Sandra was the one to finally talk me into starting it. Now that it has become bigger than I could imagine, I enjoy being a role model for other women (and men) by showing that superskinny is not the only way to be. I like a bit more muscle on myself, while others are happy with less. We are all different and I feel that I am finally comfortable in my body and therefor I want to share this mentality with others.
